ICA
London in conjunction with Cornerhouse announces the release of Local Angel as a box set of a DVD
and a book to be available from the 27th of January.
The release will accompany a one-week screening
of Local Angel at ICA from the 27th of January
to the 1st of February.
Slavoj
Zizek and Udi Aloni will have a symposium concerning
post-secular society, philosophy and politics on
the release’s inaugural evening, January
27th, 6:30pm at ICA.
Alain Badiou, Slavoj
Zizek and Udi Aloni, in conjunction with the release
of the Local Angel box set, will hold a roundtable
symposium on filmmaking in a post-democratic society
at the Berlinale Talent Campus on February 8th,
2:00pm.
The
script for Dig, a new project by Udi Aloni, has
been chosen along with twenty other scripts from
a pool of several hundred by the Berlinale for
the prestigious co-production market..
The Local Angel
book includes
provocative philosophical interventions on the film
by three giants of contemporary theory, Avital Ronell,
Alain Badiou and Slavoj Zizek, as well as essays, poems,
and email correspondence by Aloni and a host of other
renowned scholars and critics. Ranging from problems
of concrete political struggle to visionary theological
speculation, the book not only serves to situate the
film in a richer intellectual context but also stands
on its own right as a unique contribution to contemporary
art and political theology.
Dig
is a script written by Udi Aloni and Paul Hond, based
on a story by Udi Aloni, to be directed by Udi Aloni
and produced by Metro Communications Ltd. For more information
a website on Dig will be established in connection with
